What we collect

SurfTidal collects standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time of visit). These are retained for up to 30 days for security and error monitoring purposes only.

If you contact us via the contact form, we collect your name, email address and message content. This information is used solely to reply to your enquiry.

We store your theme preference (light or dark mode) in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device.

What we don't collect

  • We don't require account creation or login
  • We don't use advertising tracking pixels
  • We don't sell or share personal data with third parties
  • We don't use cookies for tracking or analytics

Third-party services

SurfTidal loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google's privacy policy applies to that request. Surf data is fetched server-side from Open-Meteo, NOAA and the UK Environment Agency — these requests are made by our server, not your browser.

Your rights

If you have contacted us and wish to have your data deleted, email us at the address on our contact page and we will remove your details within 7 days.

Changes

We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be noted at the top of this page with a new date.
